BRAIN GYM AND EDUCATIONAL KINESIOLOGY (www.braingym.org)
"Movement is the door to learning" (Paul and Gail Dennison, co-founders of Brain Gym)
Words of encouragement from Paul and Gail Dennison taken from the Brain
Gym 101 manual:

"To live is to move.  Life is ever changing, ever shifting and ever demanding.  Brain Gym teaches us how
to move with our challenges, our dreams and our goals.  At the Educational Kinesiology Foundation, we
believe that there are no learning disabilities, only learning blocks.  We are all learning blocked to the
extent that we have mastered the art of not moving.  [In Brain Gym
101], "You will be learning safe, simple
activities which will support you in reconnecting to your true potential.  When your goals are no longer
blocked, you will be able to reach for them without hesitation
."
Brain Gym, part of a comprehensive program called Educational Kinesiology (Edu-K), brings
movement and learning together for amazing advancement in brain enhancement. This section of
the website features Edu-K classes and speakers.
Brain Gym 101 is a series of quick, fun and energizing activities. These activities are effective in
preparing any learner for specific thinking and coordination skills.  In Brain Gym 101, these activities are
taught in the context of Action Balances for personal goals, so that they become easy, automatic, and
relevant. Balances for Pos
itive Attitudes, Seeing, Listening, Writing, and Whole Body Movement are
taught.  Dennison Laterality Repatterning for a deeper integration of the left and right hemispheres as well
as connecting to the heart is an important key to the success of Brain Gym.  It is taught in this course.  In
addition, three dimensions of intelligence are taught:  Laterality Dimension (communication), Centering
Dimension (Organization) and Focus Dimension (Comprehension). Key Brain Gym movements,
F.A.S.T. Balance for emotions and the X-Span Balance for whole body-brain are also part of the class.
Brain Gym 101 is the entry level class for the upper level courses.
Optimal Brain Organization:

The Brain Organization Profile provides a new understanding and appreciation of the child's own
uniqueness and the special ways he functions in his world.  It also demonstrates how learners change
for better or worse under stress, to cope with the challenges in life.  The Edu-K processes you will
learn in this course offer the opportunity to access all sensory channels in order to make use of all
modalities, bringing positive, healthy, and integrated resources to new learning situations.
The Brain
Organizati
on Profile is invaluable to educators and children alike, as it indicates sensory and brain
preferences and their implication for such activities as:  Reading, Math, Writing, Memory Access,
Motivation, Talking on the phone, Relating to people, Sports Performance and other life activities.

VisionCircles:

Visioncircles grew out of Dr. Paul and Gail Dennison's vast knowledge of, and commitment to natural
vision improvement and sensory integration.  Visioncircles provides a road map to completion of
developmental skills through movement, play, art, and vision awareness activities.  Each of the eight
structured sessions (circles) represents a key to enhanced brain-body functioning.  Each circle
presents opportunities to recognize and expand perceptual abilities through an exploration of the
sensory modalities.
