Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri
Connected with esoteric lineages of the Himalayan Yoga tradition, Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri lucidly disseminates the authentic teachings of the Himalayan Masters. 

His holiness has lectured in many countries around the world bridging spiritual traditions while teaching the common ground of Vedic heritage. 

He is ordained to teach and disseminate the Sanskrit scriptural teachings of Vendanta, Yoga, and Samkhya philosophies.

The name Vidyadhishananda means "one who is in the bliss of being absorbed at the source of knowledge."

At a Special Convocation held in Calcutta on 19 January 2006, Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri was awarded the degree of Mahamahopadhyay (Honoris Causa) which translates into Great Ordained Teacher. 

This rare honour is only given to a few outstanding individuals, most of whom receive it in their later years after a lifetime of service to the philosophical and theological heritage of India.

The award is one of the highest accolades conferred in India through the university system.

Swami Vidyadhishananda belongs to the spiritual lineage of the Kriya-yoga Masters, Paramahamsa Swami Hariharananda and the author of
Autobiolgraphy of a Yogi, Paramahamsa Swami Yogananda.

A monk of the exalted Vedanta tradition, Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri received his monastic training and scriptural study under Paramahamsa Swami Hariharananda who was a direct disciple of Swami Shriyukteshwar Giri.

Hailing from an ancient monastic tradition formalized into ten orders in and around 500 B.C., his monastic lineage also includes renowned monks such as the erstwhile Shankaracharya of international repute --- the great mathematician Swami Bharati-Krishna Tirtha.
